Official Announcement: XeltraLaser Technology Selected for Historic Locomotive Restoration

XeltraLaser is pleased to announce that our advanced Laser Cleaning Machine has been successfully deployed in the restoration efforts of the historic 2141 steam locomotive, “The Spirit of Kamloops,” undertaken by the Kamloops Heritage Railway Society.

This morning, the external surfaces of the 2141’s boiler were meticulously cleaned using the XeltraLaser system. By the afternoon, nondestructive testing (NDT) inspections, including magnetic particle testing, commenced — marking a major milestone toward the locomotive’s recertification and eventual return to operation.

The Kamloops Heritage Railway Society, in collaboration with Westside Inspection and NDT (Kelowna, BC), selected XeltraLaser technology for this critical phase of the project. We are honored to have contributed to the preservation of such a significant piece of Canadian rail heritage.
